On 31st January 2022, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) was consolidated into the IFRS Foundation to support the work of the newly established International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). While this site and its resources remain relevant for preparers looking to improve sustainability disclosure until such time as the ISSB issues its IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards on such topics, no further work or guidance will be produced or published by CDSB. WBCSD and Natural Capital Declaration join CDSB’s Technical Working Group

New members join CDSB's Technical Work to support the Reporting Framework's expansion to Water and Forest reporting

Anne-Leonore Boffi  - Manager, WBCSD Water Program

Anne-Leonore manages WBCSD’s water stewardship program and brings extensive experience in water accounting to the CDSB Technical Working Group.

She has been involved in the development of the WBCSD Global Water Tool (water business risk assessment), the Water Footprint Network’s methodology (WBCSD was a key founding partner) as well as to the ISO water footprinting draft standard (liaison organization), as well as Aqua Gauge as WBCSD counterpart in this partnership with Ceres.

Anne-Leonore has also worked on a guide for business on the various tools and methodologies developed and/or under development in the water world (measuring/accounting; impact assessment; disclosing and reporting) to improve understanding of their complementarity and call for harmonization on some core concepts and definitions across the initiatives.

She is also the WBCSD contact to the CEO Water Mandate and provided input on several of their initiatives as a member of their stakeholder committee.

CDSB’s Technical Working Group will benefit from Anne-Leonore and WBCSD's unique expertise in water reporting and her in-depth experience  from working with businesses around water stewardship.

Liesel van Ast, Project Manager, Natural Capital Declaration (NCD)

Liesel manages the implementation of the NCD Roadmap and Business Plan for the Global Canopy Programme, in close co-ordination with the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative

Her role includes NCD Programme Manager to co-ordinate the four working groups that aim to help financial institutions meet commitments to integrate natural capital considerations into financial products and services, accounting and reporting. She also project manages the first working group, to build an understanding of the risks and opportunities around how financial institutions depend on and impact natural capital. 

Liesel has almost six years’ experience as Research Editor at the service provider Trucost, writing, editing and managing published reports and working as a senior analyst to deliver research projects and advise on portfolio environmental risks and opportunities. Liesel previously worked as Section Editor, Writer and Online Editor on The ENDS Report. She holds an Investment Management Certificate; MSc in Business Strategy, Politics and the Environment; and Certificate in Environmental Management.

Liesel and the Natural Capital Declaration’s experience will be crucial for the expansion of the Climate Change Reporting Framework to cover water and forest stewardship.
