On 31st January 2022, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) was consolidated into the IFRS Foundation to support the work of the newly established International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). While this site and its resources remain relevant for preparers looking to improve sustainability disclosure until such time as the ISSB issues its IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards on such topics, no further work or guidance will be produced or published by CDSB. UNCTAD, OECD, CDSB and GRI Workshop on Climate Change Reporting

16 March 2012, Room XXV, Palais des Nations, Geneva - Join CDSB's CEO Lois Guthrie as she moderates a session on the information needs of a green economy.

Many countries around the world are introducing regulatory approaches to climate change related reporting. These approaches vary and are leading to a "patchwork" of different reporting schemes across the globe.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) are working together to take stock of current corporate climate change reporting frameworks and assess the benefits of greater consistency of approach to the demand for and supply of corporate climate change-related information. It is an opportune moment to share information and compare reporting programmes, as climate change disclosure is still developing, and countries are not yet completely locked into a specific regulatory path.

The joint workshop will focus on:

• Providing information, evidence and resources to support greater understanding of the policies, initiatives and practices that currently lead to the demand for and supply of climate change related information.

• Identify the main problems linked to the current lack of consistency of climate change disclosure systems.

• Assess the benefits of greater consistency.

• Pave the way for further discussions on consistency in the demand for and supply of climate change related information.

Join members of the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR), along with invited experts and key stakeholders, for deliberations on this timely topic. This interactive workshop will allow participants to weigh in on the evolution of climate change reporting policies. Inputs gathered at this meeting will inform a new joint UNCTAD, OECD, CDSB, GRI report to be launched on the eve of the Rio+20 Earth Summit in June 2012.
